Double recognition for TotalEnergies as SPE honors stakeholders

TotalEnergies EP Nigeria Limited received double honours at this year’s edition of the Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE 2023), which took place from July 31–August 2, 2023, at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos.

TotalEnergies was presented with the SPE Special Industry Recognition award at the opening session in recognition of its support and contributions towards the success of the SPE NAICE. The company was also honoured for its pioneering position as the first fully integrated energy company in Nigeria.

The Executive Director, Corporate Services, Mr. Olatunji Akinwunmi received the former award on behalf of the company while the Manager, Deep Water Safety Operations Mr. Adebola Bada, who also served as the conference chair received the second one. TotalEnergies staff were also active throughout the conference, playing various roles or making presentations at technical sessions and at the exhibition booth.

The Executive Director JV Asset, Mr. Obi Imemba also took home the Regional Service Award for Outstanding Achievement. The award was received on his behalf by the SPE Nigeria Council Secretary, Mr. Daniel Abia.

TotalEnergies’ exhibition booth was a beehive of activities as it hosted the official VIP tour while delegates and visitors called to inquire and participate in various progammes that took place at the booth. 

TotalEnergies facility also played host to the SPE NAICE 2023 Family programme which was designed to inspire and encourage children and wards of SPE members while they are engaged in conference activities.

In a separate session at Eko Tower 2, the children received pep talks from company’s HSE officers led by the General Manager, Deep Water safety operations Mrs. Yemisi Elegbeleye on the company’s operations, safety standards, how to be engaged in the industry and to stay focused on their aspirations.

The conference, organized by the Nigeria Council of the Society Petroleum Engineers (SPE),  attracted over 4000 delegates and visitors.

The theme of this year’s conference was, "Balancing Energy Accessibility, Affordability, and Sustainability: Strategic Options for Africa".
